Night Running Is No Fun

Day 2 Week 1 schedule 4 miles

Because I needed to take our car in for a scheduled maintenance today, I ran the four miles last night.

Running at night turned out not what I expected.  First, it was so dark around the neighborhood, the street lamps had limited effect. Visibility was a hit or miss, so was my footsteps.  This led to the second problem – safety.

There was a real possibility that I could have got run over by cars.  When cars approached, while grateful for the illumination from their head lights, I had to be prepared to jump out of the way in case the drivers did not see me (I was wearing my neon yellow running shirt).

In addition to my tender left heel, I now have a sour right ankle.
