Election Litter

Midterm election is now over.  Winners, and  losers determined. What is next?

How about removing those campaign signs that have littered all over our streets and neighborhoods?  They are litters because clearly these signs have expired.

Don’t get me wrong.  I am for freedom of speech and political activism. I am also for clean environment and accountability.  Just as good guests should not overextend their welcome the same applies to the campaign signs.

Overheard on the radio that there actually is a local ordnance requiring the signs be removed so many days after election.  Otherwise the candidate’s election committees will be fined. I am eager to see if the ordnance is true and whether it is enforced.

I’m all for fining them if they don’t pick after themselves. Also, so much paper is wasted during campaign.
