This is hard to believe: yesterday I was shoveling snow and today I was washing my cars. What is with this crazy weather?
Within a span of 24 hours, the Washington DC area temperature went from 30 degrees yesterday to 46 today. A whopping 16 degrees jump in temperatures. And the historical averages for both days are 52 and 53 respectively.
The scary part is that we may be seeing the new normal’s. With the talk of global warming, sea level rising, and other environmental changes, what known about the weather patterns may be in the rare view mirror.
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, extreme weather events such as heat waves and large storms are likely to become more frequent or more intense with human-induced climate change. It went on to say that extreme weather conditions in terms of temperature, precipitation, storm and drought are becoming more common and increased overall.
In spite of all the computer modelings and predictive analytics from current technology, mother nature remains as finicky as ever. If the meteorologists couldn’t predict the weather before, surely they will have some challenges ahead.
