Knowledge Sharing

English Poet John Milton said “Good, the more communicated, more abundant grows.”

The same applies to knowledge.  Knowledge sharing is a collaborative and win-win process.  It is not competition or zero sum as some may led to believe.  Looking at the amount of the knowledge shared online and how much discussions follow, it is truly catalytic and omnipotent.

Understand in business there are situations where competition “triumphs” over collaboration, and thinking win-win could lead to criticism.  After all, isn’t survival the fittest?

Nothing can be further from the truth.

Even the Olympics, the epitome of all competitions, demonstrates the spirit of collaboration in its motto: Faster – Higher – Stronger.  Business has to take the long view, explore strategic partnership, and join the team in order to survive, let alone prospers.

So here is Mr. Milton’s quote rephrased; Knowledge, the more shared, more abundant grows.
