A-10, short title for the Annapolis Ten Mile race, is tomorrow.
Went to the expo today. It was a beautiful day downtown Annapolis. Streetful of people around the Annapolis City dock, taking advantage of this gorgeous weather. Midshipmen from the nearby Naval Academy in their spiffy white uniforms gave an added touch to this capital city of Maryland.
Standing among the pedestrians, I visualize in less than 24 hours, how a crowd of runners speeding down on the very Main Street where people are casually strolling. The stores where I window-shop today will be a blur during tomorrow’s race. What a contrast.
A nice pasta lunch at the waterfront provides the ritual pre-race carbohydrates for me. Plan to have a light dinner and easy schedule tonight. Without pre-race jitters, I feel calm about the race tomorrow. Given the A-10 is my tune-up race, I look forward to finding out my fitness level and training progress.
