8 days to Wineglass Marathon.
People ask me if I am getting the jitters. Oddly, no. At least not like what I had experienced in the past.
This year, I have trained well. All the runs in the past 19 weeks have built not only my running legs and cardio but also my confidence. I have a solid base. Now I am ready for the race day to arrive so I can execute what I have been training for.
I feel a sense of a calmness. Wish to continue this mental preparedness in the coming week. Instead of experiencing fear due to lack of practice or whatever other reasons, I feel the fire within. My heart is eager. What a difference!
Today I ran 8 mile long run – all easy pace (9:00 to 9:45). I also took gel to re-acquaint myself with it.
