Knowledge is more accessible with the aid of information technology. So much so that there is a risk that we take the knowledge for granted.
Sure, the quality of our live has gotten better. Civilization as a whole has progressed and benefited. We now know what the weather will be like not only today, tomorrow, or even the entire week with a high degree of accuracy.
But there are million less fortunate people who are without access to computer, internet and the like, books, oral history, and other traditional forms of knowledge are all they have.
So the question becomes, what have we (those with the access) done with our knowledge and its potential? Are we smarter? Or we just spend more time surfing the net?
