Cold Weather Running Muse

I waited until 2pm, the warmest time of the day, and the temperature was only 39 degrees fahrenheit.

Well, I said to myself, looks like it’s not going to get any warmer than this.  So I put on my running shoes along with gloves and headed out for today’s 6 mile run.

There was no one out there running except me. There was no mother with baby in the stroller.  There was no senior walker group.  And I understood why.

Even though the sky was bright and sunny, the weather was deceivingly cold. However little the solar heating the sun provided got whisked away by the wind. On top of that, my nose was running.

As I wiped my nose, I couldn’t help to wonder if that is why Rudolph the reindeer got his red nose.
