It seems premature to name the weather while it still in progress. But Washington DC area has been blanketed by snow blizzard since yesterday afternoon and it is continuing.
“White out” is the term best describes what is going on outside. The only sound is the whipping wind hitting against the shutters with the snow it delivers adding to the sound dampening effect. The whole house is eerily quiet with the occasional interruptions of the sound from the furnace turning on.
“At least the electricity is still on,” I hear myself thinking. Couldn’t help but wondering for how long. Emergency notification on my phone forecasts power outage due to the heavy snow. I hope not. It will be really quiet then.
