As search engine goes, Google is my choice hands down. It not only gives me lots of answers but does so in a fraction of a second. Feels like I have the world at my finger tips. All I have to do is “Google” it.
So. . . Are there really questions that Google can’t answer?
Technically, as a search engine Google can’t answer any questions itself. It redirects the users to the web pages that have an answer. As the World Wide Web is growing by leaps and bounds, hard to believe that Google can’t find something.
As an experiment, I come up with three questions that I thought would be difficult for Google to find answers on:
- why Santa likes broccoli?
- why are you mad?
- Is there life on Mars?
And here are the results:
- why Santa likes broccoli? About 480,000 results (0.40 seconds)
- why are you mad? About 111,000,000 results (0.70 seconds)
- Is there life on Mars? About 107,000,000 results (0.49 seconds)
Now I have not personally reviewed all these 218,480,000 results to verify if they indeed answered the questions. That is a task that I might have to meditate on.
How much do you rely on Google for answers? What topics you couldn’t find using Google?
