Day 4 Week 1 – Our Understanding Of The World

6/30/2019 – 8 AM run, sunny & dry, 6 easy miles.

One of the objectives of learning and growing is knowledge acquisition.  The more knowledge we gain the more our worldviews evolve.  Mark Twains’ quip illustrates this nicely,

When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.

The world is changing.  But it is only changing at a rate of our understanding.  Like a masterpiece on canvas, the external world is revealed to us as our knowledge grow and our understandings expand.

To make this life worthwhile, we have to continue to learn and adapt.  As much as we like to hold on to what we know and/or have, innovation only comes to those who are willing to learn.

How has your understanding of the world changed?  For better or worse?
