9/26/2016 – 7 AM run, cool, 3.3 miles warm up, 6 miles at 7:50 to 8:00 pace, 3.3 miles cool down. My time splits for the 6 mile tempo run were as follows: 8.16, 7.54, 7.56, 7.53, 7.55, 8.01
Tonight will be the first of the three scheduled presidential debates between Clinton and Trump for the 2016 election. Lots of hoopla in the media about how “huge” this debate will be for the two candidates or the record viewership anticipated to catch any memorable moments. Drama and more drama.
According to the Wall Street Journal, one-third of the voters think the debate is important in helping them decide whom to vote for. After all, this will be the first time, the two candidates will face-off each other. Given the unpopularity of the both, it may be a real circus. Hope not.
Conversely, two-third of the voters think the debate is not important. Particularly if these voters have already made up their mind or believe there is no real differential substance will be revealed from the debate.
In any event, Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Trump will have the opportunity to cast themselves, to explain their policies, or to display whatever they think will convert the one-third votes. An advise from Stephen R. Covey may be apropos here, “You can’t talk your way out of a problem you behaved your way into!”
What do your expect from tonight’s first Presidential debate?
