Day 4 Week 15 – Swing Voters

10/6/2016 – 7 AM run, cool, 6 miles easy

For the Presidential election in November, the swing states (and their electoral votes) are as follows: Florida (29 electoral votes), Pennsylvania (20), Ohio (18), North Carolina (15) and Virginia (13).  That means 85 electoral votes are up for grab.

Does that mean people can just stay home on Election Day if they are not in one of those swing states?  Absolutely NOT.

Because, in addition to the Presidential race,  469 out of the 535 seats in Congress are up for election (34 Senate seats and ALL 435 House seats, source: ballotpedia.org). That is 87.7%, or close to 90%.  Yes, NINETY Percent.

Additionally, there will be other down ballot votes that are closer to home such as governor, school board, judge, etc. that have local impacts.  But the time is running out for registering to vote. Click here to see when is your deadline.

Have you registered to vote?
