Day 1 Week 19 – Trick Or Treat

10/31/2016 – 9 AM run, sunny & cool (48 degree), 3.3 miles warm up, 5 miles at 8:00 pace, 3.3 miles cool down

This is my last “hard” workout before the Harrisburg Marathon in 13 days. Enough time for my body to recover. My splits for the tempo runs are 7:45, 7:56, 7:57, 8:02, 8:01.  The pace feels comfortable.

On Halloween, trick-or-treating after dark is the main event.  Typically, children dress in costumes going door to door announcing “trick or treat.”  This innocence is usually rewarded with candies or other goodies.

Contrasting to this ritual, the U.S. Presidential election, only eight days away, is full of political and campaign trickery. And they are been exposed everyday thanks to Wikileaks, the internet, and other sources.   They make any horror stories pale in comparison. Except that the election is real, and there is no treat for the voters.

Are you reaching campaign fatigue?  Jaded by dirty laundries about the candidates (e.g. Email-gate, Locker  room banter, etc.)?
