The North Pole Marathon 2017

The worlds coolest and only marathon run on water was held on Saturday (8 April).

According to the Kathmandupost report, participants run on the mass of ice floating on the Arctic Ocean with thin layer of ice separating participants from the ocean.

Polish runner Piotr Suchenia won the marathon in 4 hours 6 minutes, while France’s Frederique Laurent was the fastest lady finisher in 6 hours 21 minutes.

The 2018 race will be held on 9 April 2018 if interested.  Entry fees is 16,000 euros with a discount of 1,000 euros if pay in full during registration, including flights (from Norway), accommodation and transportation at the North Pole.  Space is limited to 27.

This race is definitely the coolest.  Don’t you agree?
