Judgement is a two-edge sword. We use it in our daily dealings. It helps us assess situation and make decision. But, in so doing, we see the “negatives” in others. Nose too big, color too bright, too slow, not fast enough, too expensive, etc. In judgement, we criticize.
Thus, judgement results a win-lose proposition or a comparison mentality. Somebody wins and other loses. But it needs not be that way. Wouldn’t it be better to have a win-win outcome instead? Like the case of a satisfied customer where a win exists for both the buyer and the seller. Granted win-win is not always possible but worth a try.
How do we achieve a win-win? I suggest to look for the good in others. Sure, no one is perfect, but no one is totally a loser either. Seek the positives and you shall find. Compliment people on small details or deeds will set you on the right path. You will have a better chance for a satisfied experience.
When confronted with negative people or situation, crank up a notch and challenge yourself to look for the good in them or the situation. Persist. Remind yourself with the proverbial “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” And the effort will be worth it.
Because we all can use more positive energy.
Do you believe that you can find the good in every situation?
