Week In Review – 13 May 2018

Week Three of my Erie Marathon training.  Total miles ran this week: 27.  My weight is 152 pounds and resting heart rate 58 beats per minute.

It had been a busy week.  Foremost, moving my son out of school where he lived for four years was huge and took a lot out of me.  It made me appreciate recovery and how it integrates into my training.

Marathon is an endurance event.  Building that endurance means repeatedly overloading my body and recovery.  Besides the weekly mileage which is the expectation, I continue to glean insights on how my body reacts to various workouts.

This all takes time and patience.  My goal is to be fit enough so I can finish the marathon strong.  More importantly, I would be remiss if not wishing you a Happy Mother’s Day.

Have a nice week.
