Day 2 Week 13 – What To Do On Rest Days?

When it comes to rest days, there is a tendency, at least for me, to do nothing and just let it all hang out.  After all don’t we deserve it?   Certainly, do-nothing qualifies as resting.  And once-in-a-while it is good for one’s soul to have a break.  Point noted.

But for those who want more from their rest days, Caroline Bakker, personal trainer & blogger, suggests an alternate approach, namely active recovery.  Her article “How To Spend Your Next Rest Day To Maximise Recovery” offers a comprehensive overview of the various options within the realm of active recovery.

Furthermore, I like her holistic approach on the subject of recovery, integrating it into any fitness programs, and bringing attention to an area that is too often overlooked.   Among the options, yoga, sleep, and meditation are my top 3 favorites.
