Good Bye October

Last day of October.  Before I say good bye, something I need to get off my chest.  I will be frank, it’s my apathy.

Saw a sign during my run this morning: Neighborhood Halloween parade at 5:30 pm.  I do not care about the Trick-or-treaters that will be out tonight.  It has been so long since our kids participated.  I am now 180 on this tradition: it’s bad for their teeth and health.

Next, seems most of the media headlines are about the president.  But I already know what the president says do not make much sense.  So why is it news other than a curiosity-show? I don’t care about these headline news.  Meanwhile Gen Z are worried about school shootings and suicide rates are up in this country, who is running the country anyway?

Therefore before I say good bye to this day, I bid farewell to my apathy.  Searching my values, what impact, and how to making a difference, I will start with something within my control.  Even a small act of kindness helps.  So tomorrow can be a new day, a new month, and a new start.

How was your October?
