First Day Of March

March has arrived over night.  So is a new coat of snow, around one inch of accumulation. Spring is coming but not soon enough.  Because first, a blast of cold air is on the way arriving this Sunday.  Thanks to the polar vortex.

Arctic Blast

Besides snow accumulation, below average temperatures and freezing wind gust will double up to keep a lock on the region.  Painful reminders that Old Man Winter is stubbornly not relinquishing his hold on us.

No need to despair.  Spring Equinox for Washington DC is March 20.  A merely two and a half weeks away.  Yikes!  I can’t cross the days off my calendar fast enough.  Until then, stay warm.

What does March mean to you?

I’m running a half in New Hampshire tomorrow and happy it will be cold but no snow or rain. Cold rain is the worse thing to run in.
March is a tough month, but it’s the beginning of the end of winter.
