Day 6 Week 3 – Visit To Machu Picchu

Marathon Training

No running.

Visit to Machu Picchu

After some long anticipations and plannings, finally, I made it to Machu Picchu.  My intro to the Wonders of the World.  The trip came with an unexpected twist that I shall explain below.

My quest started out in the morning on Peru Rail –  An hour and a half ride from the Sacred Valley to the Machu Picchu pueblo.  Note the beautiful mountain peaks and sunny sky. Spirit was high.

And this was what greeted me at Machu Picchu around noon:

Rain at Machu Picchu

What happened?

The rain drops started after I got off the train and connected on the Machu Picchu Bus which was taking me up to the entrance.  By the time when I got off the bus twenty minutes later, the rain drops had turned into a non-stop drizzling.

And the clouds was masquerading the lost city.

However there was no turning back at this point.  With tickets booked months ago, we braved ourselves in the rain and pressed ahead to explore this magnificent piece history.  And it was a good thing that we did.  A break in clouds came half way through our tour, and I was able to snatch this shot below:

To be continued.
