Week In Review – 12 May 2019

First of all, Happy Mother’s Day.

I ran 38 min. (Approx. 4 miles) with periodic walking breaks. The breaks were necessary to allow my lungs to suck in thin air going up the hills. The city of Cusco is located in the Andes, or the highland as the locals call it. Their ancestors, the Inca people, loved and lived in the mountains. A land lover like me had to respect the local traditions.

Another adjustment on travel is human relations.  One is often at the mercy of strangers to help him/her with local knowledge in solving the basic necessities. Such as where is the bathroom?  It really makes one appreciate that we are not alone in this world, nor should we have to.

Two things I learned from this trip thus far: 1) alpaca loves to eat dandelions (only if I can bring one home), and 2) I love lechon.

Have a nice week!
