Parabellum

The word para bellum is from the Latin phrase “si vis pacem, para bellum.” Translation: “If you want peace, prepare for war.”  Para, “to prepare” + bellum “war.”

Many in this country had sacrificed their lives for the cause of not war but peace.  Because they understood that peace is not passive.  Like anything else in life that is worth fighting for, si vis pacem, para bellum.

Let’s remember their cause on this Memorial Day.
