Cross training, no running. Did a series of yoga for legs, hips, and lower back. The result is amazing, as if I had got massages for my lower body – relief of tight muscles, and associated aches and pains.
Pain and Quality of Life
Pain, especially chronic, negatively affects our quality of life. No mater physical or emotional, there is a direct correlation between the severity of the pain and our freedom of living. No wonder, pain relief is such a profitable business if you can swing it.
Trouble is that pain relief without understanding the root-cause is only temporary. Because pain is a symptom, telltale sign of something deeper, and way too common. In haste, one may look to quick fixes. Which usually lead to failure, dependency, and more suffering.
Effective pain management requires understanding of the root-cause. Some cases may require professional intervention, Lucky for me, mine are relatively straight forward and from my marathon training. Thus I am able to ameliorate them through the yoga stretches.
