What Do I Care?

Lots of things vie for our attentions. In a busy environment, we have to be stingy with what to spend our time and effort on. It’s the nature of the beast.  A sign of the times. If we try to pay attention to everything, nothing will get done.

Thus, filters are necessary for one to be productive. For instance, I couldn’t care less about sport news.  Don’t get me wrong, I like sports and believe all the excitement happens during the event.  I just don’t care enough to read about it afterwards.

So filters reflect our values.  And everyone chooses them based on priorities.  When pressed, one picks the higher values over the lower ones. Simple?

My filter is a bit fuzzy when it comes to President Trump.  I couldn’t care less about him as a person.  But as the US President, he is bestowed with lots of authority that impacts the life of many.  Not only here in the US but overseas as well.

As such, I do care about what the president says.  I just get disappointed a lot.

How do you set your filters?
