With the month of November only 2 days away, my mind drifts to the dreaded holiday ritual of gift giving. You can tell I am not a fan of shopping. Let alone mingle with the crowds madly vying for the available goods, online or in store.
Admittedly, shopping is a skill. Knowing what to buy, where to shop, and how to score a good deal are nothing to sneeze at. A skill I suck at. Ideally, presents should meet the needs of the receivers. I favor practical wares. Which may not necessarily be correct.
And given a choice between store or online, I prefer the online for the convenience of 24 x 7 and not having to fight with traffic in the parking lot. The trade-off is to accommodate for the delivery time during holiday season, I have to plan my process early.
And this brings me to the next point, the good value. Merchants set their biggest promotions start on the Black Friday. The day after Thanksgiving. By then I will be pretty desperate and be forced to venture into the stores. Just thinking about it kills me.
How do you deal with the holiday gifting?
