For the longest time in my work life, Fridays were my happy days. I looked forward to Friday from the beginning to the end with escalating excitement as the hours ticked by. It was a feeling of freedom. Free from work for at least the next two days.
The anticipation was fun. Aside from the possibilities of what I could do in 48 hours, I got a break from getting up early, from driving through traffics, and from the routines I had set for myself. Time to pamper myself.
Don’t get me wrong, I liked my job. And Mondays was my new-beginning days. Get re-connected back to the worklife. A chance to start the week anew. Opportunities to excel. And not to mention the paychecks. That was always helpful.
But the breaks sure were nice.
What is your favorite day of the week?
I think Friday also. The entire weekend is before you and the possibilities seem endless. The problem is that I often start the weekend with a very long list that never gets completed.
I have been taking Sunday afternoon as my do-nothing time. I watch TV and have a few beers. When the weather gets better I’ll spend Sunday afternoon in the yard doing what ever I want to do, even if that is drinking beer and watching the birds!
