Covid-19 disrupts our lives. Thus far this year and in the foreseeable future. But no need to fear this pandemic. From a macro perspective, hurricane, automobile, and computer also have disrupted our lives. But we adapt and move on, eventually.
Isn’t that what survival about? Only this time the vulnerable populations get hit hard by the Covid-19, and our societal ability to adapt gets severely tested (90K+ deaths in US and 314K+ worldwide as of today, source: Worldmeters.info).
Certainly social distancing buys us time to find a more sustainable solution. But lockdown can not be the fix. It causes imbalances and unintended consequences. For a peace of mind, we may have to letting go of what does not serve and finding ways that do.
Particularly illuminating is Krshna Prashant’s “postcards from quarantine.” Her post illustrates what lives under the lockdown look like. And her beautiful words paint the picture that most of us can readily relate. I hope you enjoy it.
Stay safe & have a nice week.
