The Kernel Within

Have you noticed yourself fallen into a mechanical & routinized relationship with self and your environment? It’s easy with daily grind such as awake, work, eat, sleep then repeat cycle. We lost ourselves and our relation to the world. What’s the reason for our existence?

The answer lies in what I call the kernel within.  Each of us has that something precious and yet forgotten as we grind through each day. You know, busy making a living but forgetting to live. An all too common but unfortunate predicament.

We are constantly facing external scripting that remind us of our layer upon layers of obligations. Scripting like our social responsibility, family obligations, job, paying bills. They get piled up that we can’t see what drive us.  Let alone staying in touch with our kernels.

Now with the Covid-19 pandemic, we have an opportunity to reset and tend to our kernels. Instead of complaining about stay-at-home and getting frustrated or bored, we can shed the layers of scripting and ask what is really important. Not what important to others, but to you.

What are your kernels within? What’s missing?

So true. Even with the change of pace and for some a slow down, we are still too busy to be present.
It’s a challenge to be in the moment even during yoga or a nice run. But running is my most present time.
