I have posted “Taking Care Of Self” a few years back. But with the Covid-19 pandemic, it has become even more imperative to revisit this topic. Instead of getting worn out by the Coronavirus, it is an opportunity to go deeper within oneself.
That may sound strange for an instant gratification culture and media saturated society like ours. What‘s there to go deep on? Quite understandable – nowhere to go deep if there is nothing (or little) there. If so, perhaps consider depositing within the self gradually.
For example, I started my meditation with 5 minutes sittings and worked my way to 10, 15, 20 minutes incrementally. Eventually I got to my goal of an hour. The physical part of being still for my body sitting through the duration(s) did not happen overnight. A process involved discovery and patience.
In addition to the physical aspect, one may need to deposit time into other buckets such as emotional, spiritual, and mental self. But the point is to take advantage of the stay-at-home and cultivate whatever is needed. It’s a practice that will benefit not only during the pandemic but thereafter as well.
What strategy you find helpful in dealing with the Covid-19 fatigue?
