Week In Review – 15 Nov 2020

The Coronavirus is killing us.  Literally. “More than 1,000 Americans are dying of the coronavirus every day on average, a 50 percent increase in the past month,” according to the New York Times,  Hard for me to believe that Mr. Trump has the time to play golf.

It’s different if Mr. Trump concedes, enjoys his transition, and let the President-elect Mr. Biden worry about the pandemic.  But that is not the case.  Mr. Trump is holding out to maximize his leverage for himself and within the Republican Party in the future.

This type of post-election phenomena are often associated with fledgling democracies in the third world countries.  But no.  We are talking about the United States in the 2020. A few years back, I would never believed I would be writing about us in such light.

Unfortunately, American people are the ones suffer. Our democratic ideals promote diversity.  But in absence of federal leadership, the state governments are left to fend for themselves on the Covid-19.  Which often results in confusing or conflicting information.

Stay safe & have a nice week.
