Just Maintenance Runs

I’m huffing and puffing.  Not a fan of wearing anything extra for running, the triple-layered mask I am wearing feels like I’m breathing through a straw.  And all I am doing is casual running.

“Casual” because the Coronavirus has cancelled all my races.  So I have no targeted goal other than maintaining my running habit. I run three times a week, all at easy pace.  And it has been fifteen months since my last marathon.

In these times, I feel that I’m getting slower and slower.  One reason is my weight.  The extra pounds I have put on means more I have to carry. And since I am not pushing myself in running speed or volume, I am not as fit as before.

All good.  Not complaining.. Just maintenance runs.

Have you noticed any change to your runs?
