Going Inward

When life gets busy, lesser priorities fell by the wayside.  But recently, my life has not been busy, I missed still more things. What is happening here?  Could it be the winter blues, Covid-19 stay-at-home, or some other hidden causes?

For example, waking up this morning, my back was screaming at me.  I had a hard time straightening my back. The stitching pain on my lower right was alarming and the last thing I anticipated.  Has my age finally caught up with me?

Instead of reaching for the aspirin, I rolled out my yoga mat, fired up “yoga for lower back pain”, and down on the floor I went. Time for some TLC and natural healing as I went through the 30 minute one-on-one session.

Sure, a pain reliever would probably be faster. But I prefer my yoga practice which gave me an opportunity to go inward, explore the aching spot, and pay attention to some neglected muscles.

You see, while I had been running, I have been remiss on my yoga practice.  And this is my body’s way to nudge me back.

Has your body been talking to you?

Ha! I have an appointment with an orthopedist on Monday!

My ankle has been bothering me since November. I thought it was tendonitis and would eventually go away. Well, I’m still waiting.
I’ve had tendonitis before and it does go away eventually, I just think it’s taking a little too long this time.
Hopefully this is much ado about nothing. But alas, my body has been talking.
