Week In Review – 2 May 2021

It is May, already. Yes May 2021.  And the Coronavirus pandemic is still ravaging around the world (see cases below).  Chances are it will be with us for the foreseeable future.

CUMULATIVE CASES BY DATE (Source https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/cumulative-cases)

So, is there a race for me this year? I don’t know. Perhaps by October when the US reaches herd immunity. But for now I will at least support the folks who want to race virtually.  So I can remain healthy and be relevant.

Interestingly, the US Census was conducted  in 2020  (with adjustment) during the pandemic.  How much of the count was skewed and how much still valid as a result?  Don’t have the answer.  But surely, it will be a point of debates for the next decade.

For me, the value of the Census lies in its telltale trends, how it can help us in projecting what is to come, and how we may better prepare for these changes.  America is going through changes.  Just now feels more than ever.

Stay safe & have a nice week
