Week In Review – 30 May 2021

It’s Memorial Day Weekend, the unofficial start of summer.  Instead of backyard cookout, the occasion is punctuated by rain, and hot-cold weather.  Which has my house air conditioning and heat cycling on and off.  Confusing as it may, one thing certain is that the Coronavirus epidemic is on the decline.

President Joe Biden has declared a goal of 70% American vaccinated by the 4th of July.  And the progresses indicate we are getting there. This kind of attention clearly helps to bring the virus under control.  Contrast to a year ago, folks are returning to travel for the holiday weekend. What a difference and an emotional relief.

While the fact speaks for itself, the Republican members of Congress, on the other hand, are trying to re-write history.  Their refusal to investigate the Capital riot on January 6 is  consistent with the “big lie” of a stolen election from last year.

The American people bearing witness to these recent events will judge for themselves. Whom to believe and what  their choices will come to fruition during the 2022 mid-term election.  For me, I welcome the returning to normalcy – not only on fighting the pandemic, economic recovery, but also the White House leadership.

Stay safe & have a nice week.
