Even though the approved Coronavirus vaccines Pfizer and Moderna are 94% effective and Johnson and Johnson 66%, they are not 100% (no vaccines are).
That’s why vaccine breakthrough cases (i.e. fully vaccinated people who still get sick, are hospitalized, or die from COVID-19) are expected.
Even though rare, these breakthroughs do happen. In Massachusetts near 4000 cases have been reported. Nationwide 10,262 cases have been reported between 1 January – 30 April 2021.
So what is the bottom line? It’s not over until it’s over.
Be mindful and vigilant. Stay safe.
