Week In Review – 20 Jun 2021

First of all, happy Father’s Day to all the dads.

If nothing else, enjoy a quiet Sunday sans cicadas.  For those thinking of celebrating the holiday indoor in a restaurant, please observe the Coronavirus precautions as the threat of the pandemic is still going on, and as a nation we have yet to reach the herd immunity.

Soon it will be the second pandemic summer that we are enduring.  The heatwave is already upon us, plaguing parts of the US.  Moreover, threat of wildfire like the ones from last year is a vivid reminder of our challenges ahead.

Are we smarter or better in dealing with these challenges?  I don’t think so. Not if we don’t take on the ownership of these problems and be proactive about them.  Instead, the special interests continue to politicizing these issues and spreading misinformation.

To that point, my hat off to the Juneteenth.  Which became a national holiday this past week.  Perhaps a sign that there is a political will to be critical and examine our mistakes past or present.

Stay safe & have a nice week.
