Week In Review – 18 Jul 2021

The US economy is coming back.  However, the supply side is lagging due to the disruptions caused by the pandemic.  As a result, prices across the board are on the rise.  Not a good time to buy if one does not have to.  It’s a seller’s market as the saying goes.

Not that the Biden Administration isn’t trying, but the Republican opposition is doing a bang-up job in thwarting the President’s agenda.  The sustained inflation will help the Republicans in re-taking at least the Senate if not both houses in 2022 midterm election.

I am privileged to be in proximity to witness the politics in action.

Other hot topics for the week include the flaring up of the Coronavirus, weather disasters, and push to the Tokyo Olympics. The summer Olympics is postponed from 2020 due to the Covid-19.  Finally the games will begin in 5 days.  Given all the challenges on top of the regular preparations, Japan will spearhead in making it happen. Kudos!

Lastly, the technology continues to bettering our lives. The benefits are obvious. My hope is that more will happen sooner rather than later.  And this is a big “and” that I will be able to keep up.

Stay safe & have a nice week.
