Last week the US gained over 500K new cases of the Coronavirus, the largest increase (a 131-percent increase compared with the week prior) in the world, according to the World Health Organization.
This increase although alarming raises the question whether that’s because the US is the freest country in the world. In other words, we have plenty of vaccines but also plenty of vaccine hesitant people. Our free choices are protected by the Constitution.
From the public health point of view, however, prolong pandemic is undesirable. It allows the virus to mutate and spread as in the case of the Covid-19 Delta variant. As a result, some in private sectors, as well as cities and states, begin to mandate vaccines for their employees.
To mandate or not, which is right? When should pubic good outweigh personal choice? This is an open debate that will continue.
What is your thought on the mandate?
It is imperative we protect freedom, Terry. We cannot allow fear to force us to surrender what liberty we have left.

I agree, Nancy. Liberty is our trademark. And we should do everything to protect it. Fear is however a powerful motivator and often manipulated by opportunists, media, or less scrupulous individuals. Thanks for your comments.
