Week In review – 5 Sep 2021

The saying that Time waits for no one was applicable to this week’s US troop withdraw from Afghanistan. Even though that not everyone wants to leave Afghanistan can do so, the official line was every American citizen and Afghan ally who wanted to leave can.

It was a white-lie given the circumstance the US was operating under. And it left broken hearts and promises all the way around. Be that as it may, the world will move on, leaving history to be the judge.  But attention will shift to other pressing matters.

Most notable is the tenacious pandemic that has held our life hostage for the past eighteen months.  Close behind are the climate crises like wildfires and floods that are wrecking our cities, states, and people’s lives along the way. We got our hands full.

The situation is messy. But if we can not take care ourselves how can we take care of others?  For those counting on technology to save the day, the answer is not if we don’t get our act together. Which is a bitter pill to swallow.

Stay safe & have a nice week.
