Google the term Narcissism and you get, “excessive preoccupation with or admiration of oneself.” And none is more famous than Narcissus from the Greek mythology which gave rise to the term.
Mythology aside, we have the real examples of Vladimir Putin (the Great) and Donald Trump (the Deal) that we can point to as poster child for narcissism. Both men share a lot in common: president, multimillionaire, and narcissistic.
That last point is revealing. Psychologist Kristy Lee Hochenberger puts it this way: “the core of a narcissist is cripplingly low self-esteem. They will do anything possible to not just build themselves up but also put others down.”
It explains so much about the two. Matches to a T if you ask me. And of course, it’s no secret that Trump admires Putin. What a combination.
