While Russia is making a mess out of Ukraine for the sixth month straight, China is rattling its sabers in Asia using Nancy Pelosi’s visit this week as a pretense to extort Taiwan and test the resolves of the free world.
Needless to say, with global warming manifesting around the world, we need less artificial conflicts and more earnest collaborations on preventing climate changes. But that’s easier said than done as geopolitical issues have been throughout human history.
Closer to home, the heatwave is keeping people indoors, and the oppressive heat is only briefly suspended by late thunderstorms in the afternoons. In the midst of all these chaos, I try to stay calm by being myself. The bravados of youth are only history for me.
