My wife and I are taking a trip overseas to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Against the backdrop of summer/ revenge travel, supply chain shortage, pandemic lock-down, the trip is not without consternation.
You see, we are going to Europe. Where the labor unions have a habit of going on strikes when traveling is hot. This is to maximize their leverage and exact negotiation power from the management. I get that.
Unfortunately for us travelers, delay, delay, and more delay are the consequences. With canceled flights and missing luggage constantly in the headlines, I’m hoping these happenings diminish as the summer draws closer to an end.
On a consolation note, dollar is strong against the euro right now. We just need to do get there (and back) smoothly. The rest our anniversary vacation should be okay. Fingers and toes crossed.
