Week In Review – 9 Oct 2022

Democracy is not perfect, in fact far from it. But it is my preferred option that embraces aspiration and frustration. With less than one month to the US midterm elections, lots of attention is focused on the politics of campaigning. But democracy is really practiced day to day.

The protest around the world against the Iranian treatment of women by its Morality police is an example. As Thomas Jefferson said, “All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.” Outrage over what unacceptable provided fuel for the public protest.

In case you’re wondering where is life taking us, the question may point to happiness as an answer. Don’t buy it. There is much more to life than mere happiness. As you embark on this journey keep an open mind on the possibility of discovering something that may surprise you.

Stay safe & have a nice week.
