Before you think I am losing my mind or my grip on life, allow me to explain.
Many things are beyond my control. Weather, war, or Washington Politics to name a few. In fact, the older I become, the more I realize how little I can control. I can’t even control what’s on my mind sometime.
That’s where I agree with Seth Godin on what he called the “hodgepodge” in our lives, and how it “continues to get more chaotic, not less.” Godin’s point is a good one. Often we are under the illusion of that we are in control. In reality it is only the opposite.
Therefore, I prefer the term “influence” in the way as Godin suggested over control.
How much are you in control of your world?
