Violence should never be condoned. And what happened in Memphis, Tennessee is a powder keg waiting to explode: another traffic stop and police brutality that resulted in death of a regular person who was on his way home.
The Memphis case may spotlight bad policing, but let’s not forget about the mass shootings at large in America. Why this cycle of violence keeps on repeating? Is there perhaps something more systemic? Is violence really part of the fabric of America?
To get to the truth, we need an open dialog on the nature of the root cause that has been recurring in our society for generations. Are we ready to seek to understand? Not politicizing it, trivializing it, or scapegoating it.
Don’t you think it’s time that we face up to the violence?
