Yesterday, China proposed a 12 point peace plan calling for cease fire and peace talk between the Ukraine and Russia.
While short on details, the action by China is a step in the right direction given the Ukraine war has been on going over an year now incurring devastating lost without any prospect of a resolution.
Some question its neutrality, but China at least has the ears of both Ukraine President Zelenskyy and Russian President Putin. That’s better than anybody else can offer thus far.
Whether China, the second largest economy in the the world, possesses the gravitas to pull it off, that remains to be seen. But at least, it is willing to spearhead an alternative to the current predicament.
