Practicing Gratitude on Valentine’s Day

Today is Valentine’s Day which my wife and I celebrated with the classic combination of chocolate and a dinner out. It may sound cliche to some, but not to me. Because I used to believe saying “thank you” was sufficient. But no more. Words alone are not enough to carry the weight of true gratitude, especially for someone who matters most.

Practicing gratitude is a relatively new habit for me. Of course, I’ve always been thankful for my wife and my family. But I have learnt that gratitude is not just about the recipients. It is about me; my own growth–cultivating an attitude of gratitude and ensuring my actions consistently reflect the gratitude I hold in my heart.

Words are a good start, but they are rarely enough. Tangible acts are much more heartfelt.

How is your Valentine’s Day?
