Is it the summer heat that has me agitated? Or the barrage of dismal headlines I see? Nay. The agitation I feel is not caused by the world. The blame, if I must assign one, lies within. Peeling back the layers, I find my emotion is the source of this reaction.
Each day we are surround by stimuli. The world acts like a mirror, not only of our behaviors but also our internal weather. Ever wonder why people behave the way they do? It is the manifestation of their emotions.
External triggers are universal. What sets us apart is our response to them.
So, the agitation that keeps me awake is my own. Perhaps it’s fear. I know the importance of sleep plays in our well-being and not getting enough sleep feeds into that fear. Unfortunately, that compounds my struggle to fall asleep.
Do you agree our emotions play a key role in our behavior?
