Day 2 Week 5 – A Win-Win Approach

4 miles easy pace with fartlek surges, cloudy & 67 degree

The morning air was cool, and my strides felt good.  Instead of the planned three miles, I ran four including a couple fartlek during mile 3.

Since this being a “down” week, my body could use both a break and the mileage.  Sounds contradictory?  Here is my plan:  run four miles everyday which spreads the running load evenly across the week and a moderate distance on Saturday.

This way I incur low stress and yet build some distance (similar to my week 1 schedule).  A win-win approach.  In addition, the blisters on my feet have healed.  The extra day of rest on yesterday has paid off.
